Educational Requirements: Person must possess Diploma/Certificate in the trade from ITI and knowledge of the following items:- (i) Must be able to clean old painted surfaces by user of blow lamps or/and paint removeRs. (ii) Must to able to mix paint and varnish to required shades or match paints to any shade. (iii) Must to able to apply enamels and larquor paints uniformly and a high degree of workmanship. (iv) Must be able to do both brush and spray painting to a high degree of finish. (v) Must be able to cut simple stanpils and to carry out block lettering in English and Hindi on various types of boards and badges in multi-colours. (vi) Must know the application of putty and standard primers. (vii) Must know the cause and cure of cracking blistering and bleeding of paints. (viii) Must have knowledge of covering capacities of various grades and mixtures of paints. Persons who can also read and write urdu shall given preference.
